The Snakes on a Plane teaser is out. Absolutely riveting. Highlights:

"I've had it with these mothafuckin' snakes."

"THAT'S RIGHT MOTHAFUCKA I JUST WHIPPED YOU WITH A MOTHAFUCKIN' SNAKE!"

"Whatchu gonna do now, mothafucka!?"

"OH MAH GAWD THEREZ SNAKES ON THIS PLANE!"

"Ughhh...there's snakes on this plane and I forgot my heart pills..."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAGHHAHHHAHHGHHGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"SNAKE IN MY SHIRT!!!!!!!"

Shit's gonna blow up. I don't care why. It's going. to. blow. up.

Axe + snake + plane =

Backmasking
I just listened to almost every Boards of Canada song backwards. It is incredible how well they manipulate sound. So many hidden voices, backwards instruments, crazy effects. I think the main reason people never appreciated The Campfire Headphase as much as they should have is because they never took the time to really explore the soundscapes. I think it might be their most thematically coherent work to date.
Also, that new Fiery Furnaces record makes pretty extensive use of backwards elements. A lot of songs have well over a minute of backwards vocals. I am really anticipating Matt's solo work - as much as I love Eleanor, I feel like she's holding back his more experimental side.

So my school newspaper has a really goofy opinion page with columns with goofy names like "Deal With It" and "I Wonder If..." which really have nothing to do with dealing with anything or introspection of any sort. If I was an opinionated man, my title would be a bit more succinct: "Taking Out The Trash."

This is going to be the coolest spring ever.
2-18 - NIN @ Kemper Arena. I wouldn't be going if my mom hadn't invited me (she's quite the Reznor fan), but it could be a decent show.
2-22 - Sigur Ros @ Uptown Theater I expect nothing less than a transcendental, life-changing experience. Hopefully I'm not disappointed.
3-1 - Matisyahu @ Beaumont C'mon...I get to hear "King Without A Crown" live.
3-21 - Wilco @ Uptown Theater When I read that they're stopping in KC, I involuntarily yelled "OH MY GOD" pretty damn loud. I am so incredibly excited to see them.
If Radiohead makes a stop here in their upcoming tour, I think my life will be complete.

I saw the coolest educational film ever in Anatomy today. Mystery of the Senses - Smell. It is so completely Lynchian and surreal. It features people sniffing each other, sniffing toilets, for uncomfortably long periods. And some fantastically directed and eerie imagery of scent factories. And some really interesting commentary on our culture, and our need to perfume every aspect of our existance.
